Touring in the Winter

We have noticed the wineries are getting into the Holiday Spirit!

Blenheim Vineyard, pictured left, one of our most FAVORITE places to take our tour guests, usually requires appointments for tastings – just to make sure they are available to pour the wines for you instead of out in the vineyard! But they will have all hands (and paws) on deck to pour for you at their Holiday Open House so please join them to toast the season. Their open house will run from December 12th-31st from 10am-5pm. http://www.blenheimvineyards.com/
King Family Vineyard, pictured right, had their Gingerbread Workshop earlier this month which we could not attend but I’m sure was as hugely popular as their cooking classes are! They are also a super place to shop for stocking stuffers and gifts. Our favorites are the wine themed Christmas tree ornaments, the wrought iron candle holders that fit into the top of an empty wine bottle, and the great tea candle holders that they make out of old barrels. And don’t get me started on their basket selection….!

First Colony – pictured left – has a cooking class for their next event on January 5 and then they have their Firehouse Chili Cookoff later that month on the 20th! We love going there as they always have great wines to pour and lots of inside tables for picnics during the cold weather. Very few wineries have the inside room to provide tables, so it’s so nice to always know you have somewhere to park yourself and spread out with a great selection of wines to choose from to accompany your lunch.

We are out of time for this post, but will check in again to let you know what some of the other wineries are doing for the winter…Have a toast to whatever Holiday you celebrate, and one for everyone else’s! And our warmest wishes to you all.
