Sad Farewell to Oakencroft

We are sorry to see Oakencroft Winery closing, and encourage everyone to go visit for a last tasting. It’s a beautiful property and we loved bringing our guests to taste and enjoy the lovely views there.

On a more cheerful note, our vines at Arcady B&B are growing and healthy so we should have some pretty vineyard views for the B&B guests as soon as they pop out of the grow tubes. We had to put them back on since our deer decided they were tasty!

We are getting ready also for the Ashlawn’s Outdoor Music Festival. They call it an Opera Festival but it’s really one opera and one musical that’s performed every year in July and August.

It’s a great way to see a wonderful professional performance much closer up than in the regular theater. They have a pavillion in case of rain. I recommend to bring drinks and a hand fan if it’s hot outside.

This year the opera is Carmen and the musical one of my favorites: My Fair Lady! You can find out more and purchase tickets online at

See you at the show!
